West Seattle takes action
8 members of the newly organized West Seattle Skatepark Action Group started putting the process outlined in the Advocacy Guide through it’s paces this week.
In a meeting at Delridge Community Center, the West Seattle sites on the city-wide skatepark plan were prioritized, and a strategy for building out and funding the entire West Seattle system was put into motion. The process will be broken up into phases, and Phase 1 of the process was kicked off, focusing on the creation of a vision document that can be used to bolster community support and raise funds.
This is a huge first step and hopefully other neighborhood groups will soon follow.
