Richard Conlin is now City Council President

Skaters rejoice!  Today Seattle City Councilmember and mega-supporter of Seattle skateparks, Richard Conlin, has just earned himself the seat of City Council President.

The entire Council eventually came around and all seem supportive of skateparks now, but Richard has always been on board.  Most recently, he played a primary role as representative for skateboarders during the SeaSk8 debacle.  Not once did he make a decision without personally calling a skatepark advocate to ask what was important to us.  His personal commitment to understanding the issues was almost shocking, except once you meet him you realize that he truly does care and will go the extra mile to make sure the right decision is made.

Congratulations Richard!  It couldn’t have happened to a more deserving person.
