  1. The city deemed the spot along the north waterfront (between that busy street and rail line) “wacky” enough to install an elaborate sculpture park. Is the picturesque waterfront site, safe enough for pedestrian scuplture viewing, somehow dangerous for skateboarding? Or is it just more lucrative? What was the rationale behind the rejection?
    (nothing against sculplture, but when exactly did the mania rise to such a level in Seattle? Brand new SAM, new outdoor SAM sculpture park, all the painted pigs, …Chihuly chandeliers! The city’s getting cluttered up with borderline art. Maybe we should be as selective about what peices of art are publicly displayed, as we are about selecting skatepark sites.)
